Ordering from AliExpress, Temu or SHEIN is easy. The maddening part is the week when tracking doesn’t move. This guide pulls together what the stores themselves say about tracking, what to expect from an international tracking number, and how long you have to file a claim if something goes wrong. It was written for Mexico and Spain, so every deadline below is labeled with the country it applies to.
Based on the shipping pages of Temu Mexico and Spain, those of SHEIN Mexico and Spain and its “How to track your order” help article, the Buyer Protection page and several AliExpress guides (Spanish-language versions), the Universal Postal Union (UPU) S10 standard, Your Europe (European Commission) and Correos de España’s customs pages. Checked on October 3, 2026. AliExpress’s and Temu’s help centers require a login or block automated reading, so I could not check an official glossary of tracking statuses or Temu’s late-delivery compensation: confirm both in your account. This guide does not verify any rule for US shoppers.
How to track an AliExpress order
According to the guides AliExpress publishes on its site, tracking is checked from your account, not from an outside search engine:
- Log in and go to My Orders.
- Open the order: you’ll see the tracking number, the shipping date and the current status.
- Tap “View tracking” to open the map with your package’s route.
AliExpress says you’ll get notifications when the package leaves the warehouse, reaches international distribution centers and gets close to your area. If tracking doesn’t show up at first, its guides suggest waiting 24-48 hours, because some sellers take that long to register the dispatch.
AliExpress tracking not updating: where is my order?
One of those guides suggests a sensible order of steps once 72 hours pass with no change: check that the number is correct, message the seller through the order chat so they can look into it and, if they don’t answer, open an inquiry with your order details in the help center. Another guide adds that if the package still doesn’t appear, you can open a dispute from My Orders with the “I haven’t received my order” option.
On protection, the official page says it covers orders that don’t arrive or get lost within the delivery window you see in the order details, and orders that arrive damaged, incomplete or different from the description: in that case you file within 15 days of receiving it. The order AliExpress asks for is “Contact seller” first, then the return or refund request from My Orders → order details. These pages are AliExpress’s Spanish-language versions, and I did not check whether the US site words them the same way. For the store’s other conditions (taxes, payments, Choice), see our guide to buying on AliExpress. If you’re still deciding whether to order, there’s also a guide on whether AliExpress is legit.
Temu tracking: when will my order arrive?
Temu is clear about one thing and cautious about another. The clear part: it takes 1 to 3 days to process the order, gives you the tracking number when it’s ready and sends a shipping notification message with the delivery time. The cautious part: it warns that tracking may not be available at every step of the journey and that the actual date can change because of flights, weather and other factors.
| Temu Mexico | Temu Spain | |
|---|---|---|
| Processing | 1-3 days | 1-3 days |
| Standard shipping | 4-28 business days | The timeframe is shown in the shipping notification |
| Pickup point | 4-16 business days | The page doesn’t say |
| If it doesn’t arrive | Contact customer support within 90 days of the order date | |
To follow the order, log in to your Temu account and open the order: the number appears there once it exists. In the pages I could read, Temu doesn’t publish a glossary of statuses or a list of delivery carriers, so I can’t tell you what each internal label means. If a status worries you, use the customer support chat in the app and ask about that specific order.
SHEIN tracking in Mexico and Spain
With SHEIN the path is short. Go to Orders while logged in; under My Orders you see the status of each one, and when it shows “Shipped” you can tap “Track” to see the package’s current status. SHEIN also sends an email when it dispatches the order, with the tracking number.
| SHEIN Mexico | SHEIN Spain | |
|---|---|---|
| Processing | 1-3 days | 1-3 days |
| If it doesn’t arrive within the estimated time | Contact within 90 days of payment | Contact within 45 days of payment |
| Tracking says “delivered” and you don’t have it | Contact within 60 days of the delivery date shown in tracking | Contact within 30 days of the delivery date |
| Compensation for late delivery | 100 SHEIN points | 200 SHEIN points |
| Standard shipping times | Vary; you see the delivery table at checkout | Standard 8-11 working days; express 7-10; economy 10-12 |
The points for late delivery depend on the terms of SHEIN’s on-time delivery service, which I couldn’t read in full: check in your order whether you qualify. And one useful detail: when you receive the order, SHEIN asks you to tap “Confirm delivery” to validate the purchase’s points, so don’t do it before you have the package.

What tracking statuses mean
Let’s be upfront: AliExpress, Temu and SHEIN don’t publish an official glossary of every status on the pages that can be read without logging in. What they do say, and what the postal carriers say, is this:
| What you see | What the source says |
|---|---|
| “Shipped” (SHEIN) | The order has left; the “Track” button and the email with the number appear. |
| No movement in the first days (AliExpress) | AliExpress’s guides mention 24-48 hours until the seller registers the dispatch. |
| Leaves warehouse, reaches international centers, nearby (AliExpress) | These are the milestones AliExpress says it notifies you about. |
| Tracking “not available at every step” (Temu) | Temu warns there may be stretches with no information. |
| Pre-admisión, En camino, En entrega, Entregado (Correos de España) | These are the usual statuses Correos shows in its tracker (pre-registration, on its way, out for delivery, delivered). |
An international package almost never moves every day. Between leaving the origin and reaching the destination country there can be several days with no events, because tracking is recorded by milestones. DHL explains it this way for its shipments: it shows events at intervals, and the package keeps moving even when time passes between one event and the next.
International tracking number: the S10 format
If your number has the form two letters, nine digits and two letters (for example, RR123456785GB is the typical example), it’s an identifier from the Universal Postal Union’s S10 standard. The standard fixes 13 characters with this structure:
| Positions | Type | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| 1-2 | Letters | Service indicator |
| 3-10 | Digits | Serial number: exactly 8 digits |
| 11 | Digit | Check digit |
| 12-13 | Letters | ISO country code of the UPU member under whose authority it was issued |
That’s why people say “nine digits”: the eight serial digits plus the check digit. The service indicator follows ranges defined by the UPU: C for postal parcel, E for EMS (express mail), L for tracked correspondence, R for registered correspondence and V for insured. Under the standard, each country administers and assigns its own service codes within the general rules, so the letter is a hint, not a guarantee.
RR123456785GB, the sum is 204, the remainder is 6 and 11 − 6 = 5: it matches the digit 5.AliExpress numbers and those of other platforms don’t always follow S10. 17TRACK, a public tracker, warns in its help center (no visible date) that AliExpress platform reference numbers (Cainiao) aren’t real carrier numbers and that real tracking is done with the number of the carrier handling the package; its example is a number starting with LP, tracked with the carrier Yanwen. DHL, for its part, says its identifiers can be 10 to 39 characters long for eCommerce. Bottom line: if your number doesn’t fit S10, it isn’t an error, just another format.

My order isn’t moving: what to do, step by step

- Check that you’re using the right number and that you open it in your account or at the carrier named in the order.
- Give it 24-48 hours if the order just shipped: that’s the window AliExpress suggests, and DHL gives the same one for the first events to appear on its shipments.
- Check the estimated date on the order. A delay within the delivery window isn’t yet a problem you can claim.
- Message the seller or customer support through the order’s own chat. That leaves a record inside the platform.
- Open the formal claim before the deadline in the table below runs out, with screenshots of the tracking and the chat.
When to file a claim: official deadlines
| Store | Situation | Deadline |
|---|---|---|
| AliExpress | Doesn’t arrive or gets lost | Within the guaranteed delivery window shown in the order details |
| AliExpress | Arrives damaged, incomplete or different | 15 days from receipt |
| Temu (Mexico and Spain) | Doesn’t arrive or shows delivered but you didn’t get it | 90 days from the order date |
| SHEIN Mexico | Doesn’t arrive within the estimated time | 90 days from payment |
| SHEIN Mexico | “Delivered” but you didn’t get it | 60 days from the delivery date in tracking |
| SHEIN Spain | Doesn’t arrive within the estimated time | 45 days from payment |
| SHEIN Spain | “Delivered” but you didn’t get it | 30 days from the delivery date |
In Spain there’s also a European rule that helps explain your rights. According to Your Europe, if the contract doesn’t set a date, the seller must deliver within 30 days; if it doesn’t arrive, you give a reasonable additional period and, if the seller still fails, you can cancel the contract and demand a refund as soon as possible. The seller is also responsible for damage from dispatch until you receive the goods, and must prove delivery. How this applies when the seller is outside the EU is more complicated; there, the platform’s own protection carries more weight. For returns at each store, see our Temu return policy and SHEIN return policy guides.
In Mexico, if the store doesn’t respond, the next step is PROFECO, the federal consumer protection agency. We have a Spanish-language guide on filing a PROFECO complaint for an online purchase, and another on tracking packages in Mexico that lists the carriers that appear in Concilianet.
If you’re in the US, none of the deadlines or customs rules in this guide have been verified for you. For US shoppers, our guides on SHEIN shipping time, Temu’s return policy and whether AliExpress is legit are the places to start, and the package tracker opens the official carrier page for a number.
Which carrier delivers my order in Mexico and Spain?
None of the AliExpress, Temu or SHEIN pages I could read names the carriers that make the final delivery in Mexico, and I’m not going to give you a list from hearsay. The carrier’s name appears inside your order’s tracking: when you see it, use its official site. Our Spanish-language guide to tracking a package in Mexico has the official pages for Estafeta, DHL, FedEx, Correos de México, J&T Express, Paquetexpress and 99minutos.
In Spain there is an official fact: packages that enter by post go through customs and are handled by Correos. Correos explains that recipients can process customs at correosaduanas.es or in its app; in the app, the payment limit is €150.
Customs in Spain: why a package gets stuck
In Spain, a good share of the long waits for packages from outside the EU come from customs. Two rules published by Correos:
- VAT: on shipments up to €150, VAT is paid to Correos when the package arrives (through its app) or comes already paid at the store if the seller uses the IOSS system.
- Customs duty of €3 per item (in practice, per product type according to its tariff classification): it applies to low-value shipments arriving from July 1, 2026 to July 1, 2028. Correos only collects it and can’t hand you the package without charging it first, unless the country of origin prepaid it (PDDP).
You can pay before delivery in the Correos app or at mioficina.correos.es, until the moment Correos starts the delivery; after that you pay the mail carrier or at a post office, in person. If your package “doesn’t arrive” and tracking is stopped in Spain, first check whether Correos left you a notice or a pending payment. The calculation details are in our Spanish-language guides on customs in Spain for packages from outside the EU and, for Mexico, on taxes on purchases from China.
Does tracking with an outside site like 17TRACK work?
17TRACK has a public page (in Spanish) where you paste one or several numbers and it recognizes the carrier automatically. It’s handy for numbers from well-known carriers. But as seen above, it doesn’t always recognize AliExpress platform numbers. Use it as a second opinion: the source of truth is still the tracking inside your order and the website of the carrier named there.
Mistakes that cost you protection
- Waiting until the last day. The deadlines in the table run from the order, the payment or the delivery, depending on the case. If you see the order is late, write now.
- Settling it outside the store. If a seller suggests continuing on WhatsApp or by bank transfer, you lose the protection inside the platform.
- Paying “fees” to whoever messages you. Be wary of any payment requested by message to release a shipment. SHEIN warns about this explicitly; in Spain, the charge Correos talks about is made in its app, on its website or in person.
- Confirming delivery without the package. At SHEIN, “Confirm delivery” validates the points; tap it only when you have the package in hand.
FAQ
How do I track an AliExpress order?
Log in, open “My Orders,” choose the order and tap “View tracking.” If no information shows up yet, AliExpress’s guides suggest waiting 24-48 hours.
How do I know when my Temu order will arrive?
Temu processes the order in 1-3 days, gives you the tracking number when it’s ready and sends a notification with the delivery time. On Temu Mexico, standard shipping is 4 to 28 business days. Tracking may not be available at every step.
How do I track a SHEIN order?
Go to Orders → My Orders and, when the status is “Shipped,” tap “Track.” SHEIN also emails you the tracking number when it dispatches the order.
How many days do I have to claim if my order doesn’t arrive?
Temu (Mexico and Spain): 90 days from the order date. SHEIN Mexico: 90 days from payment; SHEIN Spain: 45 days from payment. AliExpress: within the guaranteed delivery window shown in the order details. We did not verify US deadlines.
What format does an international tracking number have?
The UPU’s S10 postal standard: 13 characters, with 2 service letters, 8 serial digits, 1 check digit and 2 country letters. Example of the format: RR123456785GB.
Why does my package show as delivered when I don’t have it?
Contact the store as soon as possible. With Temu you have 90 days from the order date (Mexico and Spain); with SHEIN, 60 days (Mexico) or 30 days (Spain) from the delivery date shown in tracking.
Do I have to pay anything extra to receive a package from outside the EU in Spain?
There may be VAT and, since July 1, 2026, a customs duty of €3 per item (per product type) on low-value shipments. Correos collects it before delivery, through its app, at mioficina.correos.es or in person, unless the seller already paid it.
Can I track AliExpress with 17TRACK?
Not always. 17TRACK’s help center warns that AliExpress platform reference numbers aren’t real carrier numbers; you need the number of the carrier handling the package.
