Amazon Returns at Kohl’s: How It Works, What to Bring and the Hours

Kohl’s has taken Amazon returns since 2019, and it’s still one of the simplest ways to send something back: no printer, no box, no tape. The catch is that it only works for items Amazon marks as eligible for the Kohl’s option, and you still have to beat Amazon’s return deadline.

Based on Kohl’s Amazon returns page, its return policy FAQ and store locator pages, Amazon’s newsroom and Amazon’s return policy (checked Sep 29, 2026). Amazon decides which items qualify; Kohl’s just accepts the drop-off.

How do Amazon returns at Kohl’s work?

1. Start the return on Amazon. Go to Your Orders or Amazon’s Online Return Center, pick the item and the reason.
2. Choose the Kohl’s drop-off option among the return methods Amazon offers for that item.
3. Get your QR code. Amazon shows it in your account and emails it to you. Keep it on your phone.
4. Take the item to Kohl’s. Go to The Return Drop @KOHL’S area (store pages call it the Amazon Returns Outpost) and show the QR code to a Kohl’s associate.
5. Leave it there. Kohl’s packs, labels and ships the return for free.

Amazon describes the same flow for all its no-box drop-off points: you bring the unpackaged item and the QR code, and the item is scanned at the counter. Amazon says it has more than 10,000 such drop-off locations in the US, including Kohl’s and Staples.

What time can you do Amazon returns at Kohl’s?

Kohl’s doesn’t publish separate hours for Amazon returns. On the Kohl’s store pages we checked, only the store’s regular hours are listed, next to “Amazon Returns Outpost” in the store services. Two examples at the time we checked (Sep 29, 2026):

1. Open the Kohl’s store locator (kohls.com/stores) and search your ZIP code.
2. Use the store services filter “Amazon Returns Outpost” to see which nearby stores list the service.
3. Open the store’s page to see its hours for each day. Kohl’s suggests calling the store directly if you’re unsure it offers Amazon returns.

Which Amazon items can you return at Kohl’s?

Kohl’s accepts “eligible Amazon.com items”, and the eligibility is set by Amazon, not by the store. The practical test is simple: if Kohl’s appears as a drop-off option when you start the return, the item qualifies. If it doesn’t, pick another method Amazon offers.

Amazon’s general rules still apply to anything you drop off:

• Return items in original or unused condition, with tags attached and hygiene seals and liners intact.
• Heavy or bulky items can carry a return fee under Amazon’s policy.

Neither Kohl’s nor Amazon publishes a limit on the number of items per visit or a maximum size for Kohl’s drop-offs on the pages we checked. The drop-off options Amazon shows for each item are what count.

Do you need a box, tape or label?

No. Kohl’s says an associate will pack, label and ship your return for free, and Amazon says no shipping box, tape or label is needed at its no-box drop-off locations. Bring the item itself, plus its accessories and anything that came with it, so the return isn’t marked incomplete.

Is there a Kohl’s coupon for returning Amazon items?

Not officially at the time we checked. Kohl’s Amazon returns page (Sep 29, 2026) mentions no coupon or Kohl’s Cash for Amazon returns; it only encourages you to shop and use Kohl’s Rewards and Kohl’s Cash while you’re there. Kohl’s has run offers in the past: Axios reported a $5 Kohl’s Cash promotion for Amazon returns in July 2022. Don’t count on one unless it appears on Kohl’s own site, app or emails. When will Amazon refund you?

Amazon issues the refund, not Kohl’s. Amazon says refunds can take up to 30 days; for some returns it issues an advanced refund when a carrier first scans the package. You can follow the status under Your Returns in your Amazon account.
