In this guide
Quince sells cashmere, linen, silk, bedding and home goods under its own name at prices it says are far below other brands, which is exactly why people ask whether it’s a scam. It isn’t: it’s an established US company with a generous return policy. The real questions are about quality claims and fit.
Based on Quince’s shipping & returns, warranty, “how it works” and factory pages, plus BBB, Trustpilot and news coverage listed at the end (checked Sep 29, 2026). Ratings change over time.
Who runs Quince?
Quince was founded in 2018 and launched as Last Brand before renaming itself Quince in 2020. It’s based in San Francisco; the Better Business Bureau lists the legal business name as Last Brand, Inc., started December 5, 2018. It sells its own-brand products and says it buys directly from factories (more on that below).
Quince’s return policy

| Window | Most items can be returned for a full refund or exchange within 365 days of the delivery date. |
| Cost | Free for most items. |

| Final sale | Not returnable, but contact Quince if you received the wrong item or a manufacturing defect is confirmed. |
| Refund to store credit | Processed within 3 business days after the carrier receives your return. |
| Refund to your card | About 7 business days after the return reaches the warehouse. |
| Exchanges | The new order is created as soon as the carrier scans your return. |

Does the “direct from factory” model hold up?
Quince’s pitch, in its own words, is “Direct from factories, no middlemen.” On its “how it works” page it breaks down one example, a Mongolian cashmere crewneck, as costing $39.15 to make and deliver and selling for $50. It also says it partners “only with factories that pay fair wages to their workers and produce goods in a sustainable manner.”
These are Quince’s claims. Its factory page does not name specific audits or certifications, so there’s no independent way to confirm them from what Quince publishes. What you can judge is the product in your hands, and the 365-day window gives you time to do that.
Lawsuits and disputes
Quince has been sued by bigger brands over its “dupe” positioning, and by shoppers over its pricing claims. None of these cases is about customers not receiving orders.
- Williams-Sonoma (filed November 2025). Reuters reported that Williams-Sonoma sued Quince in federal court in San Francisco, accusing it of false advertising with lines such as “Like Williams-Sonoma, but half the price” and of selling “similar-looking but inferior products.” Quince asked the court to dismiss the case in January 2026; FashionUnited reported in March 2026 that the court hadn’t ruled yet. These are allegations, not findings.
- Consumer class action (filed December 2025). FashionUnited reported that shoppers, in a complaint amended March 5, 2026, allege Quince uses misleading strikethrough prices and comparison charts to exaggerate its discounts. These are also allegations.
- Deckers, maker of UGG (verdict June 2026). A jury found Quince’s mini boot would infringe Deckers’ design patent but also found the patent invalid, as reported by WWD.
- Coach (filed April 2025). Coach sued in federal court in Northern California over two handbags it called copies of its designs; both sides filed a joint dismissal without prejudice on June 23, 2026, according to FashionUnited.
For shoppers, the takeaway is simple: treat any “same as brand X” comparison as marketing and judge Quince products on their own.
What independent ratings say
When we checked (September 29, 2026), Quince (Last Brand, Inc.) had an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau and had been accredited since March 10, 2025. On Trustpilot, quince.com had a TrustScore of 4.7 from about 4,600 reviews. Trustpilot notes that Quince invites customers to leave reviews, so keep that in mind when reading the score. The main complaints there are shipping delays and items that don’t fit well or develop flaws after use.
Is Quince legit according to Reddit?
Reddit threads are individual, anonymous experiences, so we don’t summarize them as fact. They can be useful for item-specific fit and fabric feedback, but they’re not the best way to decide whether a company is real. For that, the verifiable signals are the ones above: an A+ accredited BBB profile, a 4.7 Trustpilot score and a written 365-day return policy you can hold the company to.
What Quince’s warranty covers
| Product | How long | What’s covered |
|---|---|---|
| Luggage | As long as the original buyer or recipient owns it | Cracked or broken shells, broken wheels and handles, zippers that won’t open or close |
| 5-ply stainless cookware | “Reasonable lifetime” of the product | Manufacturing defects that affect how it works |
| Jewelry | “Reasonable lifetime” of the product | Manufacturing defects such as loose or missing stones and faulty clasps |
| Made-to-order upholstered furniture | “Reasonable lifetime” of the product | Manufacturing defects such as stitching errors; frame or spring damage from reasonable use |
All four exclude normal wear and tear, cosmetic scratches, dents and stains, accidents, and items bought from unauthorized sellers or sold as used.
How to buy from Quince safely
- Buy on quince.com or the official app, not through resellers. Quince’s warranty excludes products from unauthorized sellers.
- Check for “final sale” on the product page, since those can’t be returned for fit or preference.
- Try items on with tags attached and keep packaging for underwear, swimwear and bodysuits.
- Decide before washing. Once washed or worn, the 365-day window no longer helps.
- Know the warranty. Luggage is covered while you own it; cookware, jewelry and made-to-order furniture are covered for their “reasonable lifetime” against manufacturing defects, not wear or accidents.

Verdict: is Quince worth trusting?
Quince is a legitimate company with a 365-day free-return window on most items, a strong BBB record and good Trustpilot scores. The risks are about expectations, not fraud: its “luxury for less” comparisons are its own claims and are being tested in court, and fit and durability vary. Buy what you can try on unworn, and send it back in time if it disappoints.
