In this guide
Amazon doesn’t work like a store with one weekly coupon code. Discounts are attached to individual products, and each one has its own terms. Here’s where the real ones are and how to tell them from fakes.
Based on Amazon’s help pages on coupons, promotional codes and scams, Amazon’s Subscribe & Save page, Amazon’s Sell on Amazon guides for sellers, and About Amazon (checked Sep 29, 2026). Amazon’s help pages block automated reading on www.amazon.com, so we read the same help pages on an Amazon-owned address; check the live terms of each coupon before you buy.
Is there a coupon code for Amazon that works on everything?
No. Amazon describes promo codes (also called claim codes) as alphanumeric codes that a seller creates for products in the Amazon store. Some are single-use codes unique to each customer; others are group codes shared with everyone, usually through a seller’s social media or on the product page. Amazon’s help page says promotional codes are for one-time use. That’s why a “sitewide Amazon code” posted on a coupon site almost never works: the code is tied to one promotion and often to one person.
Amazon clip coupons: how they work
Clip coupons are the most common Amazon discount. According to Amazon’s seller guide, they appear on product detail pages, and customers can “clip” them, or use a code, to apply the discount. Shoppers also see them in search results, on the Amazon Deals page and on items already in their cart. Amazon’s Coupons page, reachable at amazon.com/coupons, collects many of them in one place.
- On the product page, look for the coupon offer below the price and select the box to clip it.
- Add the item to your cart. The coupon only applies to qualifying items displaying the offer in your Coupon Book and on the product page.
- At checkout, confirm the coupon savings appear in the order summary before you place the order.

- Limit: Amazon’s coupon terms say each promotion is limited to one coupon per customer.
- Timing: coupons are valid for a limited time, and Amazon can modify or cancel them at any time.
- Rebates: a coupon may not be combinable with mail-in rebates.
- Returns: if you return an item bought with a coupon, the coupon value may be subtracted from your refund.
How to use an Amazon promo code
- Read the promotion’s terms (on the product page or where the seller shared the code) and add an eligible item to your cart.
- At checkout, find the Gift Cards and Promotional Codes section on the payment method page or on the Place Your Order page.
- Type the code exactly as shown, with no spaces before, inside or after it, and select Apply.
- Check that the discount appears before placing the order.
Rules to know from Amazon’s help pages:
- Unless the promotion says otherwise, promo codes can’t be applied to gift cards, sales tax, Prime membership fees, gift wrap or additional shipping costs.
- You can’t use promo codes with Buy Now; go through the cart.
- If you cancel the order, the code becomes available again; if the order is refunded, it doesn’t.
- Amazon’s standard promotional terms say an offer may not be combined with other offers, is limited to one per customer and account, and can’t be transferred or resold. Each promotion’s own terms apply.
Subscribe & Save: the steady discount
For things you buy regularly (paper goods, cleaning supplies, pet food, vitamins), Subscribe & Save is the most predictable way to save on Amazon.
| Rule | What Amazon says |
|---|---|
| Base discount | Varies by item; Amazon’s seller guide says sellers fund 0%, 5% or 10% |
| Bigger discount | Extra savings when 5 or more subscriptions arrive on your monthly delivery day at one address; up to 15% in total |
| Diapers and baby food | Prime members: 20% savings on subscriptions |
| Shipping | Always free |
| Price | Can go up or down from delivery to delivery |
| Cancel or skip | Any time |
Prime deals and Prime Big Deal Days
Some discounts are only for Prime members. Amazon has announced Prime Big Deal Days for October 6–7, 2026, starting at 12:01 a.m. PDT, with 48 hours of deals for Prime members in 22 countries, including the US. At the time we checked, Amazon listed Prime at $14.99 a month or $139 a year, with a free 30-day trial for eligible customers. Discounted plans exist: Prime for Young Adults (ages 18–24) at $7.49 a month or $69 a year after a six-month trial, and Prime Access at $6.99 a month for customers who qualify.
Before you pay for Prime just for a sale, compare the membership fee with what you’ll actually save.
Why “coupon code generators” for Amazon are scams
A website can’t generate a valid Amazon code. Codes are created inside Amazon by Amazon or by a seller for a specific promotion, and many are unique to one customer. Sites that promise an Amazon “code generator” are after something else: your clicks, your personal details, your Amazon login or a payment.
- Never enter your Amazon password on a site you reached from a coupon page.
- If a deal is real, you’ll see it on the Amazon product page, in the Coupons page or in your cart.
Other ways to protect your savings
- Returns: coupon savings may be deducted from your refund. Check the rules in our Amazon return policy guide before buying something you might send back.
- Check who sells the item: seller codes and coupons come from that seller’s promotion, so read its terms.
- Trust the order summary: whatever the coupon or code, the discount only counts if it appears in your order summary before you place the order.
FAQ
Is there a working coupon code for Amazon?
Not a universal one. Amazon promo codes are created by Amazon or sellers for specific products, and many are single-use. Look for clip coupons on product pages and Amazon’s Coupons page instead.
Do Amazon coupon code generators work?
No. Codes are created inside Amazon for specific promotions. Generator sites are used to collect clicks, personal data or logins. Amazon warns against sites without “Amazon.com” in the address and against requests to pay with gift cards.
Where do I enter a promo code on Amazon?
At checkout, in the Gift Cards and Promotional Codes section on the payment page or the Place Your Order page. Type it exactly, without spaces, and select Apply. Promo codes don’t work with Buy Now.
How many times can I use an Amazon coupon?
Amazon’s coupon terms limit each promotion to one coupon per customer, and promotional codes are for one-time use. A canceled order returns the code; a refunded one doesn’t.
How much do you save with Subscribe & Save?
It depends on the item: the base discount is set per product (Amazon’s seller guide lists 0%, 5% or 10%), and having 5 or more subscriptions arriving on the same delivery day at one address adds extra savings, up to 15% in total. Prime members get 20% on diaper and baby food subscriptions. Check the percentage shown on each product page.
When is Prime Big Deal Days 2026?
October 6–7, 2026, starting at 12:01 a.m. PDT, for Prime members.
